MEDLINE, a database of the U. S. National Library of Medicine, provides this website to offer useful information for both general readers and researchers. There are links to general overviews on birth defects, clinical trials, diagnosis, current research, and material on specific birth defects.

This is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The site provides a fact sheet on birth defects and their causes.
This site is provided by DES Action USA, a "national, non-profit consumer organization dedicated to informing the public about DES (diethylstilbestrol) and helping DES-exposed individuals." Diethylstilbestrol, a synthetic estrogen drug, was prescribed for millions of pregnant women (mainly from 1938-1971) to prevent miscarriage and ensure a healthy pregnancy. Instead, "the women and the children they carried are at risk for certain health problems and may need special care."
