Environmental Defense is a leading national nonprofit organization. Since 1967, it has linked science, economics and law to create innovative, equitable and cost-effective solutions to society's most urgent environmental problems. The site offers history, current facts, statistics and the latest news on global warming, as well as other environmental issues.

Natural Resources Defense Council
.NRDC is the nation's most effective environmental action organization. It uses law, science and the support of more than 1.2 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.. There are "In Brief" and "In Depth" features, as well as related links. The site can also be translated into Spanish.
Union of Concerned Scientists: Global Warming Sponsored by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), this is an excellent resource on global warming providing definitions, causes, impacts, and hope for the future. Also has global warming FAQs, along with policy briefs, and scientific information.
U.S. Global Change Research Information Office (GCRIO) This Columbia University based site provides access to data and information on global change research reports and related educational resources. Contains links to many international and governmental sites. One section of the home page, .Ask Dr. Global Change,. answers questions submitted by users.
Global Warming: Early Warning signs
This interactive world map of climate change illustrates local fingerprints or direct manifestations of global warming such as rising sea levels or heat waves, and local harbingers or events that foreshadow the types of impacts that may increase with continued warming, such as spreading diseases or droughts and fires. The map was produced by various groups including the Sierra Club, the Union of Concerned Scientists, and the World Wildlife Fund.
