Guide to Labor Unions and the Internet: Cornell University
Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations offers this useful web site. A principal purpose is to help orient/educate labor unions to using the Internet for union purposes, but some of the byproducts of the site can be very useful to academic researchers also. There are sections of the site that give connections to other appropriate web pages, such as .Labor History. with links to virtual and physical archives; .Government & Politics. sites with links to such pages as the U. S. Department of Labor and the Bureau of the Census; and .Labor Unions Websites., giving links to official pages of unions such as the United Auto Workers, AFL-CIO, and many others.
United Farm Workers (UFW)
Web site of the union formed by Cesar Chavez for benefit of agricultural workers. Contains much information on the history of the union and on its famous founder, Cesar Chavez , as well as background on other luminaries such asDolores Huerta. There are news updates, articles, and union information, some in Spanish as well as English.
African-American Labor History Links
A site of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) which gives news articles and other information, including links to Internet sites related to the history of black labor unions and movements in the United States. Includes prominent names related to labor and/or African-American history, such as A. Philip Randolph and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Women's Labor History
Another AFSCME site detailing the participation of women in the labor movement. Contains links to women's union official pages and to information on important figures in the history, such as Mother Jones and Jane Addams.
The U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of International Affairs (ILAB)
ILAB conducts research on and formulates international economic, trade, immigration, and labor policies in collaboration with other U.S. Government agencies and provides international technical assistance in support of U.S. foreign labor policy objectives. The Foreign Labor Trends (FLT) report series which is designed to be an informative and authoritative source of information on labor institutions, practices, and recent key developments in the countries reported and assess each included country's progress in complying with internationally recognized worker rights.

Academic Search Premier, MasterFile Premier
Academic Search Premier and MasterFile Premier provide full text for over 6200 periodicals including full text for more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals. Coverage spans virtually every area of academic study and offers information dating as far back as 1975.

Local, regional and national news coverage from selected newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Denver Post, USA Today, Christian Science Monitor.
Encyclopedia Americana
Includes 45,000 articles, plus thousands of hypertext links to web sites featuring additional data. It is updated quarterly.
