American Medical Association (AMA) Code of Medical Ethics
The Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs (CEJA) maintains and updates the AMA's Code of Medical Ethics. First developed in 1847, the Code undergoes regular revisions and is the most comprehensive ethics guide for physicians.
Bioethics Resources on the Web
The National Institutes of Health links site for bioethics includes general and governmental resources, specific topics like research ethics and genetics, and a news archive; links include background and current information on education, research involving human participants and animals, medical and health care ethics, and the implications of applied genetics and biotechnology.
American Academy of Medical Ethics
Current Issues section includes a wide-ranging series of articles on medical ethics topics ranging from cloning and beginning of life issues to palliative care and euthanasia.
American College of Physicians (ACP) Center for Ethics and Professionalism
The Center's mission is to advance physician and public understanding of ethics and professionalism issues in the practice of medicine, in order to enhance patient care by promoting the highest ethical standards. Areas of research include end-of-life care, professionalism, ethics and managed care, genetics, and human rights issues; site includes links, case studies and resource materials.
The Human Genome Project
This site includes information on the ethical, legal and social issues arising from research in biotechnology, including gene testing, genetically-modified food, and privacy issues.
The Bioethics Institute
Loyola Marymount University's Bioethics Institute site includes this useful list of links.
The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM)
The Medical Ethics collection covers topics such as protection of research subjects, placebo surgery, and assisted suicide and includes research articles, case reports, reviews, and editorial commentary. Listing includes several free full text articles from the NEJM.
The President’s Council on Bioethics
The Council advises the President of the United States on ethical issues related to advances in biotechnology and biomedical science. The site includes reports on ethical issues arising from those advances, including: human cloning, stem cell research, alternative sources of stem cells, end-of-life care, the regulation of assisted reproduction, and the uses of biotechnology that go "beyond therapy."

Philosophy and Religion Collection
Covers such topics as epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language, moral philosophy and the history of philosophy, world religions, biblical studies, religious history. Includes more than 300 full text journals.
Nursing Resources
Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition provides more than 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines and also features abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals. Clinical Pharmacology provides access to information for prescription drugs, herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new and investigational drugs. CINAHL provides indexing for over 500 journals in nursing and other allied health disciplines.
CINAHL Plus with Full Text
Provides complete coverage of the professional literature in nursing, 14 allied health disciplines and health sciences librarianship. In addition, there are over 560 journals in full text.
Nursing Journals (Ovid)
A collection of twenty nursing journals from Lippincott Williams & Wilkins made available through Ovid.
Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
Provides coverage of nearly 550 full text journals, covering topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.
